Haven Hills Named Co-Lead of the Domestic Violence Homeless Services Coalition
New leadership role strengthens survivor-centered advocacy and housing solutions across Los Angeles
Los Angeles, CA — Haven Hills, Inc., a leading domestic violence service provider in the San Fernando Valley, has been selected as a co-lead of the Domestic Violence Homeless Services Coalition (DVHSC), joining the Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) in guiding coalition strategy, advocacy, and cross-system collaboration.
The DVHSC is a countywide coalition focused on improving access to housing and homelessness resources for survivors of domestic violence, while advancing policies and practices that prioritize survivor safety, stability, and long-term healing. As co-lead, Haven Hills will help shape coalition priorities, strengthen partnerships across domestic violence and homelessness systems, and elevate survivor-informed solutions that better meet the needs of individuals and families impacted by violence.
DVHSC was co-created by Rainbow Services and the Downtown Women’s Center in 2017, and Rainbow has been an anchor of the Coalition since its inception. Rainbow will continue to co-lead through June 2026 and will step back from the formal co-lead role beginning in July, while remaining actively engaged as Core Team leaders and partners in this work.
“Haven Hills is honored to step into this leadership role at a critical time for survivors,” said Iliana Tavera, Chief Executive Officer of Haven Hills. “Survivors deserve a homelessness response system that recognizes domestic violence as a leading driver of housing instability and responds with urgency, dignity, and safety. We look forward to partnering with the Downtown Women’s Center and coalition members to advance solutions that keep survivors housed and supported.”
Haven Hills has played an active role in DVHSC’s work over the past year, contributing to advocacy efforts aimed at improving housing access, increasing system responsiveness, and ensuring domestic violence survivors are included in funding and policy decisions across Los Angeles County.
“Strong, values-aligned leadership is essential to the Coalition’s impact,” said Amy Turk, CEO at Downtown Women’s Center. “We are excited to partner with Haven Hills as co-leads and to continue advancing survivor-centered housing strategies together.”
Haven Hills’ selection reflects its growing leadership in systems change efforts that connect survivor services, housing navigation, and policy advocacy, while maintaining a
strong commitment to trauma-informed care and community-based support for survivors and their children.
